ABOUT ME

ABOUT ME

Who is Thomas Hipchen? What is Thomas Hipchen? When is Thomas Hipchen? All this and more after the break…

Hi, I’m Thomas. A product of the Chicago suburbs and Comedy Central programming in the late 2000’s, I write silly stories. I love to create light hearted, low-stakes escapism and satire because my goal is to bring the same comfort and levity to others that my favorite shows, Futurama and Bob's Burgers, bring to me.

I studied journalism at the University of Missouri where I joined my first band which led me to pursue a career in marketing communications and entertainment publicity. I worked for six years writing promotional and marketing collateral for campaigns that included Adult Swim, Hannibal Buress, AFROPUNK and Anderson .Paak (Oxnard). Following my communications coordinator contract with CASMI at Northwestern University, I made the decision to pursue animation and television writing because I wanted my next step to be purposeful like the AI research I supported at NU.

I now write, develop, pitch and produce everything from pilots and spec scripts, to podcasts, comics and satirical articles. I also lend my marketing and publicity expertise to independent animation, television, and audio productions including DreamArc Animation Studios, RebCat Creations, The Other Wife (2021) and WNDR Museum.
